I still like Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. It's so sad. I don't care if it's flamed. I'm a sucker for romance and tragic endings. Not to mention, gutsy heroines who will not flinch at risking their lives for the greater good. Of course, there's still the handsome and beguiling hero who loves the heroine. Ahh. Sweet, sweet love.

Back to why I'm blogging this entry. I am now $50 richer. Not because of any illicit dealings. No, not that kind. You know how stores are given an incentive or bonus for good sales? Yeah, my store got it. I was asked by my store manager to come down today. I didn't know why, but apparently it's for this. When I came, she asked me to pick out a chocolate. I was puzzled. Wel, to cut it short, she told me about the incentive. Actually, temps like me and Jowhar aren't supposed to get this incentive. But she said that it's hard to find people our age who are hardworking, and that we deserved it. She then proceeded to hand me $50 and when I didn't pick out the chocolate, she picked it out for me. I got Alprose milk chocolate bar, Alprose assorted chocolate thins, Merci Crocant and some other sweets like Guylian and Cadbury assorteds. That is some chocolate, man. Ex, if I may say so. It caught me by surprise though I doubt that there wasn't at least some traces of delight in my eyes. Like a child who knows that they are about to be given something good and they are trying not to show eagerness. Well, maybe that's just me. I'm thinking that I want to give all of them a goodie bag when I leave. Especially for my store manager. I'll give a bag of 100g M&Ms and a bear...

Did I mention that today was Nas's last day. And that Jowhar is leavin by the 6th? Which means...That I'm "alone" for most of January...

Help.

I'm adding this now as an afterthought: As Nas and I were on our way to Funan (we walked), we met a Caucasian foreign couple who wanted to know where Raffles Hotel was. I wasn't exactly sure where to find it where we were and so I told them I only knew if they went by the MRT. Actually, it was pretty near (but I didn't know where we were exactly). Then the guy started to say things like "Are you Singaporean?", "You don't know how to go to places in your own country?". The more funny but no less irritating, "Where's your mother? You're in trouble." I tried to smile all the way, but it was getting on my nerves...

I think he was trying to be funny. To lighten up the exchange because he was clearly desperate to get there. It ended up strained and was more like a scolding...

Went to Caltex House around 12. Chris gave me $60 to spend on KFC after a unanimous vote on chicken being the preferred chice of food for our "Christmas lunch". Nasriah followed me to Funan to buy food. How I was tempted to buy Taco Bell...I was like a starving man in a buffet line. *salivates*. We settled for a family feast set and added 2 more chicken and 2 Cheesy Fries. Shared a Big Gulp with Nas. She kept pinching and beating me, not to really hurt. You know, sort of the playful slapping of the shoulder. Etc.

When we reached the store, Chris (my store manager) pushed a few stock boxes outside to use as a table. I was unsure of whether they had the time to eat, but they said they would come out one by one. Jowhar ate first, then Nas, Sexy, Ah Ma and Fatimah. We got a few curious stares at the unusual setting. A few kids said to their parents as they were walking by that they wanted KFC. lol. There was a lot still left over, but they didn't want any more. So it all went to Chris. She said we all let her "pa ka liao" the food. lol. Again. But I noticed that Nas was getting quiet and sad, which is unlike herself. Later, I could swear that she had been crying. Her eyes were all red. Well, I tried cheering her up. Didn't help much. She still had that sad look in her eyes.

La.la.la.la.la.la. la.la.la.la.la.la.laaaa. On the days nearing Christmas, my manager gave to me... A box of Ferrero Rocher... In fact, she gave everybody one box of T16. In layman's terms, it's called a Ferrero Rocher containing 16 pieces. And tomorrow, I'm coming to my workplace. Not to work. But to eat. I think she "belanja" us again. I'm ordering. You know what she did just now? She gave me $60 first and ask me buy stuff to eat for lunch tomorrow. $60 frikkin' dollars. Just like that. She must have trusted me a lot to do that. Even I don't trust myself with that much money. Much less someone else.

First I felt like Cinderella. Then, a thief. Now, a frikkin' Santa's elf. Wrappin presents frantically. As if in a race to see if you can wrap it before the customer gets to the wrapping table. I heard discreet (...or no so discreet since I can understand Chinese a little...) complaints. Ugly lah. Want to complain lah. Don't want me to wrap then do yourself, lah! But there was this one that wrapped it herself. She just said nevermind, it's going to be torn apart by her daughter anyway...She was nice, though...

Haha. Back from 11 hours of work today. That's a record for me. Started at 12. Break for 15 min at 2:15. Then end just now at 11 plus. Fuyoh...But in comparison, if for the full shift, then it's about 15-16 hours today. Wow. Tomorrow, I think it's about the same thing...

Lost 2 kg already. Woohoo. Usually I work for 5 hours, so I don't get a break. I "fast" from the time I set off for work to the time I reach home. About 7 hours. Every weekday. Good diet, huh? Wonder if it will last?

As it turns out, I'm slowly and surely turning into a psychopath. I'm paranoid, distrusting and making wild and far-fetched theories about things. I'm worried for my overall sanity as it slips through my fingers. Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to fish for sympathy or to justify myself. I just want to relieve a burden that has been on my shoulders. It's just like a confessional in a Christian church.

Maybe it's the desire to fit in. To feel normal. To be wanted. Who knows? It's lucky that I'm not succumbing to the urge. The evil whispers in my ear...

Went to Toa Payoh to shop for Shu Min's present today. Wanted to give her some "girly" clothes. She asked me before to buy her something "girly" for her b'day. So here I am. You know, it's hard to find clothing for such as her. One thing, because she doen't like long-sleeve. Two, she might not like the cut or the colour (since I'm not sure what exactly she likes...) And, because all the shirts in the world are frikkin' small, designed for frikkin' small people.

Bought a plain top so that I can "customise" it. A drawer box as a present box, and as a useful thing that she can use later on. I was not sure what I wanted to buy actually. My budget was low, almost non-existent considering but I managed. I also did a shrink plastic name tag "thingy" for her in gothic print. D-I-Y. A bit squished but nice nontheless. Bought new shoes while I was at it. Hey, at least I didn't say I had no budget...

Got free Ferrero Roche today. lol. My store manager buy one whole box. The big one, 24 chocolates. wah. At first, I thought she was kidding, but she ask me go get one box and share around. Shocked, man. She put 12 in a bag, then give me. I secretly put 6 back. shhh. Even I am not greedy (and evil...) enough to take it all.

There was one incident where I was supposed to wrap something for a harried Caucasian woman. She didn't want the Watsons wrapper, wanted cellophane. I started to wrap in a nice bag shape, but then she just say "no" and "take to long". She then proceeded to show me how to wrap it by doing it herself, screuning and twisting the wrapper. In the end, she wrap it herself. It was quite badly done, but she said it didn't matter because she was in a hurry and needed to go "away". After she left, I laughed to myself. Ask me to wrap. In the end, she wrapped it herself. lol.

My store manager fainted yesterday. Had to be sent to a hospital. Outside M1 no less, which is quite near to our outlet. Because of this, extra staff was hired to help out since we are short-handed. Her name's Asha, and she is a contract temp. Okay lah, she's friendly. A little loud, opinionated. But okay nevertheless.

Lately, I've been more slow and daydreaming on the job. Dunno why. But I feel guilty about it. Sloppy. I'm too bad to be called good and innocent. But...I'm too goody-two-shoes to be called "havoc". haha. And I've also been feeling like I'm wasting my life away. Well, end and punishment will come soon enough...

A lot of stuff have happened but I still feel no compulsion to blog about anything. Just to get some facts straight. Sya has moved. I now have an obsession with Anita Blake books. I have not contacted some of my closest friends in over a week. I am getting crazier by the minute. Well, that keeps things up to date for a while. I'll see when I want to blog next...

So much things have happened since I last posted. I went on a roadtrip holiday to Malacca, stayed in a very nice beach resort (like the ones in Bali...without the Bali...lolx). Too bad I didn't bring a camera. Well, I'm too distracted and lazy to write. Maybe when I'm less preoccupied...
